Deity is an independently created stealth action game, with gameplay influenced by Diablo, Torchlight and Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's immediately playable and addictive.
Hybrid gameplay
Deity takes the isometric view of Diablo, the attractive style of Torchlight and the stealth-gameplay of Arkham Asylum and mixes them into a compelling little game of its own. It's entirely mouse controlled, yet feels satisfying as an action title which is an impressive achievement. You control a deity who can walk around normally, or transform into smoke and jump from place to place. Torches allow him to stay in smoke-form as he moves around, and gargoyles can be used to create a chain which the deity moves across.
Stealth
The puzzle element of this action game is working out how to attack enemies from behind. Attacking from the front causes you damage, where as from behind it heals you. the deity is very vulnerable to attacks when in physical form, so playing stealthily and carefully is the way to beat the game.
Graphics and sound
Typically, this DigiPen student game looks gorgeous. The graphics are very dark, and have the cartoon feel of Torchlight, with excellent smoke and light effects. Sound is also very professional for a small game. Deity isn't very long, but on Normal difficulty it quickly gets tough once the tutorial is over. This makes the game a lot more tense, as all of a sudden you have to be much quicker and more thoughtful about movement and attacks.
