Backblaze is a cross platform online backup service. It's easy to use and offers unlimited storage space.
BackBlaze's main market are those people that continually forget to backup their data and want an automated solution. It's free for the first 15 days but then costs $5 a month after that.
The setup process is very straightforward. BackBlaze backs up all data and simply requires an email address and password to setup your account. Data is then automatically backed-up and back ups can also pick-up from where they left off if the user shuts down or interrupts it in anyway.
BackBlaze claims to offer military grade encryption both sent and stored data. In addition, you can add your own encryption key if you choose. When you want to retrieve data, you can do so picking out specific files or download everything at once. If you're in the US, you can even order a DVD or USB copy sent to you. Most recently, BackBlaze has been updated with Firewire drive support although there's no such aupport for Thunderbolt connections yet.
BackBlaze is an interesting alternative to services such as DropBox and CrashPlan although the mandatory subscription will put many off.
