Traffic Inspector is an integrated gateway solution for controlling access to the Internet and for providing data transmission services.
Traffic Inspector contains a proxy server that provides caching and blocks unwanted connections thus providing a simple but secure firewall. This is useful in preventing harmful network attacks and provides a way of accounting for all types of traffic (through the proxy server, mail gateway, NAT etc).
Setting-up Traffic Inspector is very easy thanks to a useful setup wizard. You simply have to add a server to connect to or leave it blank to connect to a local instance of the Traffic Inspector Server. The connection can take a while to establish so you may have to wait a while. There are two main modes - Gateway and Sniffer. Gateway processes all of the traffic that flows into your network. Sniffer can be used to detect network attacks and identify unauthorized traffic.
